A physician assistant is a licensed health care professional who practices medicine as part of a physician/PA team. Trained in general medicine, the PA’s scope of practice encompasses a broad range of health care services and corresponds to the physician’s practice and what is allowed by law. Physician assistants work in all areas of medicine, and Barbara has worked in the specialties of women’s health, neurosurgery, and now cardiology. She holds certificates in basic life support as well as advanced cardiovascular life support. Barbara believes that patients should be a partner in their health care. For that reason, she is dedicated to empowering her patients with the knowledge they need to help prevent disease and maintain good health.
